Our task was to infuse the Argentine concept into a reasonable budget, ensuring compliance with development planning rules, and accommodating the sprawling Spotted Gum tree, whose canopy covered the site.
Throughout the design process, close collaboration with a NatHERS consultant refined the home's details. We calibrated the rear eave size to provide shade for the large north-facing windows during summer. Energy- efficient uPVC double glazed windows and doors were incorporated, and a motorised pergola was installed to offer shade in summer and allow winter sunlight into the kitchen/ living area.
The NewTech Wood cladding, a finished product, demanded precision in both set out and installation, especially when used on the garage door, which was crafted onsite and cut into five panels.
The lighting design, added a sophisticated element to the build. Dropped ceilings, custom cove details, and the right LED wattage resulted in a perfect ambiance that brings a smile to the owner's face with every use.
Returning to this home brings immense satisfaction. As it settles into the street, the owners are transforming it into a true family home.
