  • Utilisation of uPVC double-glazed windows and doors for exceptional thermal efficiency.
  • Cost-effective design decisions such as incorporating face bricks to reduce concrete usage while maintaining a modern aesthetic.
  • Off-form concrete blade walls and planters, though an investment, played a pivotal role in defining the design
  • Precision installation of NewTech Wood Castellation cladding, offering a maintenance-free and striking feature to the home

Story

Engaging Peninsula Homes after purchasing a property in North Curl Curl for redevelopment, the clients entrusted us with their vision of a home reminiscent of their homeland. Despite budget considerations, we collaborated closely to realise their vision within reasonable constraints and regulatory requirements.

Striking a balance between cost-effectiveness and aesthetics, we made some crucial design decisions. To reduce concrete usage, we opted for face bricks on the sides of the home. Also using oversized engineered timber floor joists and commercial-grade rubber underlay resulted in a solid, squeak-free floor. Notably, off-form concrete features and NewTech Wood Castellation cladding were strategically employed, while a structural steel skeleton frame ensured structural integrity.

Sophisticated lighting design, particularly the cove in the entry and master bedroom, added an elegant element to the build. Dropped ceilings, custom cove details, and the right LED wattage resulted in a perfect ambience that brings a smile to the owner’s face with every use.

Returning to the completed home brings immense satisfaction as it continues to evolve into a vibrant family haven.
